McDowell County REACH WV Coalition

The McDowell County REACH WV Coalition was formed in July, 2008 to:

1.    Address the health related disparities, social determinants, diabetes and associated chronic diseases impacting African Americans in McDowell County, West Virginia.

2.    Provide the African American community with a sense of autonomy and the ability to speak with one unified voice.

3.    Educate the community and to collaboratewith relevant health care and educational systems to effect change.

4.    Advocate for a change in health status and healthcare on behalf of all citizens, particularly African Americans in McDowell County.

The McDowell REACH WV Coalition is working in conjunction with the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health, Office of Minority Health.
